1957 to 1997
1957 Jonathan Keith Idema born to Marine veteran of Iwo Jima
1968 :"The Green Berets" released
1975 Idema joins army at age 18
1978 Idema out of active army as sargeant, maintains reserve status
1979 starts Counterr Group
1980 promoted to staff sargeant E6
1982 Arrested for possessing stolen property
1984 discharged as Staff Sargeant in reserves
1986 Charged for resisting arrest
1990 Charged with discharging a firearm
June 18 1990 Disbarred from government contracts
1991 Trains Lithuanian police, pitches story about suitcase nukes.
May 1991, Federal investigation of Idema begins.
1994 to 1997 Idema arrested, tried, convicted and imprisoned for felony fraud charges.
September 16, 1997 Idema released from prison.

2001 to 2002
September 12, 2001 Idema first hits the media radar on KTTV LA saying that al qaeda hijacked 3 Canadian planes.
October 2001, Jack arrives in Afghanistan as a humanitarian worker after misrepresenting himself to US as a US Government contractor.
November 2001, begins relationship with Massoud Khalili, ambassador to India, selling seats on helicopters to journos, becomes "advisor to Northern Alliance".
December 2001,Jack runs tours of Jallalabad to Tora Bora for $1000 and works for Fox
2002.
January 9, 2002 Jack starts selling his al qaeda tapes CBS airs them on January 18th.
April 20, 2002 Idema fires handgun at reporter Tod Robberson.
June/July 2002 Idema returns to Fayetteville due to death of mother.
August 9, 2002, Nic Robertston finds 250 al qaeda tapes.
Fall - winter 2002 , works on writing "The Hunt for Bin Laden" for Moore and other ghost writers.

2003
March 3, 2003 Hunt for Bin Laden published
July 2003 Kicked out of the SF 50th reunion when he attended with Robin Moore.

2004
April 14 2004 Idema returns to Afghanistan with Ed Carabello and Brent Bennett.
May 3 2004, Idema hands over first afghan to US and man is released as innocent two months later.
June 2004 Arrests afghan Judge, US and Afghan authorities issue arrest warrant for Idema.
July 15, 2004 Idema and crew arrested in Kabul by Northern Alliance commander in Bagram and now police chief Baba Jan.

Sept 16 2004 - Sentenced to jail -Where he will stay until 2009! Four more loooong years!
